Saamai \ Little Millet Flour - 2 cup
Ulundu \ Urad Dal Flour - 1/2 cup
Butter - 25 gm
Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
Ommam \ Ajwain - 1 tsp
Salt to Taste
Oil for deep fry. |
Steps To Make The Homemade Samai \ Saamai Murukku Maavu | Little Millet Murukku Flour : (above image)
- Wash and soak the samai arisi \ little millet with enough water for half an hour. (Image a)
- Drain the water. (Image b)
- Spread over on the cloth to absorb excess water and shadow dry it for 2 to 3days. (Image c)
- Then grind into very fine powder, sieve the flour and store in a air tight box. (Image d)

Steps To Make The Samai Murukku \ Little Millet Murukku :
- To make the murukku dough, combine the prepared samai flour and butter with the ommam, asafoetida and salt, and mix well. (Image 1 and 2)
- Then knead into soft dough with the required water. (Image 3)
- Prepare the murukku maker with 3 hole plate. (Image 4)

- Fill the dough in the murukku maker and make murukku in the hot oil and cook over medium flame till golden colour on both sides. (Image 6, 7 and 8)
- For beginners, make murukku on the plates and drop them in the oil one by one.
