Easy Hot Sour Nethili Meen Kuzhambu | Anchovies Fish Curry Recipe

Ingredients :

Fish Curry
Nethili Meen \ Anchovies - 350 gm
Shallots - 15 no
Tomato - 1 no
Garlic - 7 cloves
Green Chilli - 2 no (slit)
Tamarind Water - 1 cup (1 and 1/2" ball size)
Coconut - 75 gm
Cumin Seeds - 1 tbsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1 and 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Oil - 3 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Preparation :

  • Grind the coconut and cumin seeds into fine paste with required water and keep aside. (Image 1 and 2)
  • Then grind the shallots, tomato and garlic cloves into fine paste and keep aside. (Image 3 and 4)

Steps To Make The Nethili Meen Kuzhambu :

  • Mix the ground coconut mixture, shallots-tomato mixture, tamarind water, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and required salt in a utensil. (Image 5)

  • Then cook for 5 to 7mins over medium flame or until it raw smell leaves completely. (Image 6)
  • Add in the green chilli, curry leaves and oil, cook for 2 to 3mins. (Image 7)
  • Then add the nethili meen \ anchovies fish pieces and cook for 5mins. (Image 8)
  • Turn off the flame and let the curry is rest for 10 minutes, then oil is float on the surface and ready to serve. (Image 9)

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with the white rice and nethili meen varuval
