Tasty Kelvaragu Kaara Puttu | Keppai \ Ragi \ Finger Millet Puttu

Kelvaragu \ Keppai \ Ragi \ Finger Millet Flour - 2 cup
Shallots - 1/4 cup
Green Chilli - 2 no (finely chpped)
Grated Coconut - 1/4 cup
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1 tbsp
Bengal Gram - 1 tbsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Gingelly Oil - required. |
Steps To Make The Kelvaragu Kaara Puttu :
- In a mixing bowl, combine the kelvaragu flour and salt together. (Image 1)
- Then add the required water and knead into soft dough. (Image 2)
- Divide the dough into 4 to 5 balls.
- Make roti on hot tawa with required oil. (Image 3)
- Let it cool and grind coarsely, keep aside. (Image 4 and 5)

- To make the kaara puttu, heat a tablespoon of oil in a hot kadhai and temper the mustard seeds. After splutter add in the asafoetida, urad dal and bengal gram, saute till the dal turn light brown colour. (Image 6)
- Then add in the shallots, curry leaves and little salt, saute till the onion turns translucent. (Image 7)
- Stir in the ground roti mixture and saute for an minute. (Image 8)
- Then add the coconut, mix well, remove from the flame and ready to serve. (Image 9 and 10)
