Ingredients :

Poriyal
Plantain Flower \ Vazhai Poo - 2 cups (1/2" chopped)
Shallots - 1/4 cup (chopped)
Green Chilli - 2 no (finely chopped)
Coconut Shreds - 1/4 cup
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Steps To Make The Vazhai Thandu Poriyal \ Podimas :

  • Heat oil in a kadhai and temper the mustard seeds and urad dal. (Image 1)
  • Stir in the shallots, curry leaves and green chilli till the shallots becomes light brown colour. (Image 2)
  • Then add in the plantain stem \ vazhai thandu and required salt, cook till its moisture reduced. (Image 3 and 4)
  • Finally add the coconut shreds, mix well, take off heat and ready to serve. (Image 5 and 6)
