Crunchy Seer Fish Fingers | Easy Vanjaram Meen Varuval - Starter!

Ingredients :

Fish Fingers
Vanjaram Meen \ Seer Fish or Thenga Paarai Meen
Boneless Fish - 300gm, 1 cm thick fingers
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Garlic Powder - 1/4 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1/4 tsp
Lemon Juice - 1/2 no
Egg - 2 no
Maida \ All Purpose Flour - 1/2 cup
Chili Flakes - 1 tbsp
Bread Crumbs - 1/2 cup
Oil - required
Salt to Taste.

Steps To Make The Fish Fingers :

  • To marinate, mix the red chili powder, garlic powder, pepper powder, lemon juice and salt. (Image 1)
  • Mix this masala mixture with fish fingers and keep aside for 15mins to 1/2 an hour. (Image 2)

  • Pre-heat the oven to 220 degree Celsius at convection mode.
  • Dip the marinated fish fingers into the beaten egg and salt mixture. (Image 3)
  • Roll them in the maida and red chili flakes mixture. (Image 4)
  • Then again dip into the egg. (Image 5)
  • Finally roll them in the bread crumbs to coat and press gently. (Image 6)
  • Repeat with all the fish pieces.
  • To bake, arrange the prepared fish fingers in the greased baking dish, drizzle some oil and bake for 15 to 17minutes, turning halfway through cooking. (Image 7 and 8)
  • Or deep fry the fish fingers till golden brown color and ready to serve.
