Tasty Kalkandu Sadam | Easy Pressure Cook Method - Pongal Special

Pachai Arisi \ Raw Rice - 1 cup
Kalkandu \ Rock Sugar - 1/2 cup (powdered)
Milk - 500 ml
Water - 1 cup
Crushed Cardamom - 3 no
Cashews - 20 no
Raisins - 3 tbsp
Ghee - 1/4 cup |
Steps To Make The Kalkandu Pongal Sadam \ Rock Sugar Rice :
- Boil the milk and water in a pressure cooker pan, add the washed pachai arisi \ raw rice, cook for 1 whistle and 5mins over simmer, when all the steam has released open the pan and mix gently. (Image 1 and 2)
- Add the kalkandu podi \ powdered rock sugar, mix till its dissolved while hot. (Image 3)
- Then add the cardamom and mix gently. (Image 4)
- Separately ghee roast the cashews and raisins, mix with the pongal and ready to serve. (Image 5 and 6)

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with the methu \ ulundu vadai. |
