Mullangi Keerai \ Radish Greens - 2 cups
Paasi Paruppu - 1/4 cup
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/8 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
Onion - 1 no
Green Chilli - 2 no (slit)
Coconut Milk - 1/2 cup (thick)
Oil - 2 tbsp + 1 tsp
Salt to Taste. |
Steps To Make The Radish Greens Kootu :
- First pressure cook the paasi paruppu \ skinless moong dal with turmeric powder, asafoetida, teaspoon of oil and a cup of water for 1 whistle and 2mins over simmer. When all the steam has released, open the pan and keep aside. (shown in above image)

- To make the kootu, heat oil in a pressure cooker pan and temper the mustard seeds and urad dal. Then saute the onion and green chilli until translucent. (Image 1)
- Stir in the mullangi keerai \ radish greens till shrinks. (Image 2)
- Then add the pressure cooked paasi paruppu \ skinless moong dal and saute for few seconds. (Image 3)
- Add the coconut milk and required salt, mix well and bring to boil. (Image 4)
- Cook for 1 whistle, when all the steam has released, open the pressure cooker pan, mix well and ready to serve. (Image 5 and 6)
