Sankara Meen \ Snapper Fish - 7 to 8 nos
Lemon Juice - 1/2 no
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Ginger - 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Garlic - 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Shallots - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Red Chilli Paste - 1 tbsp
Coriander Seeds Powder - 1 tbsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 tbsp
Oil - 3 tbsp + shallow fry
Salt to Taste. |
Steps To Make The Sankara Meen Varuval :
- Marinate the fishes with the lemon juice, turmeric powder and salt for 10mins. (Image 1 and 2)
- Then shallow fry the fishes and keep aside. (Image 3)
- To make the masala, saute the ginger and garlic in a oil. (Image 4)

- Add in the shallots and cook til translucent. (Image 5)
- Stir in the red chilli paste, coriander seeds powder, cumin seeds powder and pepper powder til its raw smell leaves. (Image 6)
- Then add in the curry leaves, required salt and 1/4 cup of water, cook till the oil separate from the masala. (Image 7 and 8)
- Add the fried fishes, cook till the masala water reduced and dry. (Image 9 and 10)
- Ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with the Curd Rice, Rasam or Sambar. |
