Spicy Siru Kizhangu Stir Fried Poriyal | Chinese Potato Side Dish

Siru Kizhangu \ Chinese Potato - 300 gm
Cloves - 3 nos
Cinnamon Stick - 2 nos (2" long)
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Fennel Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 3 tbsp
Salt to Taste. |
Steps To Make The Siru Kizhangu Stir Fried Poriyal :
- Wash and pressure cook the siru kizhangu for 1 whistle and 5mins over simmer with 1 and 1/2 cup of water. When all the steam has released open the pan, cool the siru kizhangu completely, remove the skin and chop into 1"cm size and keep aside. (Image 1)

- To make the poriyal, heat oil in a kadhai \ pan, roast the cloves and cinnamon stick. (Image 2)
- Stir in the red chilli powder, fennel seeds powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder and required salt. (Image 3)
- Stir in the pressure cooked siru kizhangu and cook for 5 mins over simmer until crispy. (Image 4 and 5)
- Ready to serve.
