Healthy Easy Tasty Breakfast Sweet Corn Adai | Cholam Adai Recipe

Ingredients :

Adai
Sweet Corn Kernels - 1 no (approximately 1 and 1/2 cup)
Idly Arisi - 2 cups
Dry Red Chilli - 2 no
Garlic - 7 cloves
Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Grated Coconut - 1 cup
Coriander Leaves - 3 to 4 tbsp (finely chopped)
Water - required
Oil - required
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Preparation :

  • Wash and soak the rice and dry red chilli for 2 hours. (above image)
  • Drain the water and keep aside.

Steps To Make The Sweet Corn Adai Batter :

  • Grind the soaked rice and dry red chilli into paste with required water. (Image 1)
  • Add in the corn kernels, garlic, fennel seeds, asafoetida and required salt, and grind into little coarsely. (Image 2)
  • Then add in the grated coconut and grind little. (Image 3 and 4)
  • Transfer the batter into a bowl and mix with the coriander leaves, and the batter is ready. (Image 5)

Steps To Make The Sweet Corn Adai :

  • Heat the iron tawa, pour a laddle full of batter in the center and spread into circle for about 1/4" thickness (+ or -). Then make some holes using spoon and add two teaspoon of oil. (Image 6)
  • Cover and cook over simmer on both sides until the brown spots. (Image 7, 8 and 9)
  • Do the same for the remaining batter.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Coconut Chutney.
