Ingredients :

Nandu | Crab - 4 no (cleaned, washed)
Milagu | Pepper - 1 tbsp
Jeeragam | Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Sambar Onion | Shallots - 1\2 cup (chopped)
Ginger - 1"
Garlic - 4 to 5 cloves
Tomato - 1 no
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp (chopped)
Crystal Salt - as required
Gingelly Oil - 3 tbsp

Method :

Steps To Make The Milagu Nandu | Pepper Crab:

  • Preparation, dry roast the pepper and cumin seeds separately in hot kadhai and cool completely. Then grind into powder and keep aside. (Image 1, 2 and 3)
  • Grind the shallots, ginger and garlic into paste, keep aside. (Image 4)
  • Grind the tomato into fine paste and keep aside. (Image 5)

  • To make the milagu nandu, heat the oil in a hot kadhai, add in the ground onion mixture and curry leaves, saute until the mixture turns golden colour. (Image 6)
  • Add in the tomato paste and saute for two minutes. (Image 7)
  • Add in the crab and turmeric powder, mix well. (Image 8)
  • Add a cup of water, mix well and bring to boil. Cover and cook for 5 to 7 minutes. (Image 9)
  • Then add the ground pepper-cumin seeds powder, mix well and again cook for 5 minutes over medium flame. (Image 10)
  • Finally add the coriander leaves, mix well and ready to serve. (Image 11)
