Ingredients :

pavakkai bittergourd rings chips
Pavakkai | Bitter Gourd - 1 no
Curd - 1\2 cup
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Garlic Powder - 1\2 tsp or Crushed Garlic - 3 cloves
Asafoetida - 1\4 tps
Kadalai Maavu | Besan Flour - 4 tbsp (+ or -)
Rice Flour - 1 tbsp (+ or -)
Oil for deep fry
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Preparation:

  • Take a pavakkai | bittergourd, wash and remove the seeds with other stuff from inside by using knife. Then slice thinly. (Image 1)
  • In a mixing bowl, add the curd, turmeric powder and 1\2 tsp of salt, mix well. (Image 2)
  • Mix in the sliced pavakkai and soak for about 15 minutes. (Image 3)
  • Then squeeze the pavakkai and soak in a bowl of plain water for about 15 minutes. (Image 4)
  • Then squeeze the excess water fully and ready to make chips. (Image 5)

Steps To Make The Pavakkai | Bitter Gourd Rings Chips:

  • In a mixing bowl, add the prepared pavakkai, red chili powder, garlic powder, asafoetida and required salt, mix well altogether. (Image 6 and 7)
  • Add the besan flour and rice flour, toss well. Add water if required. (Image 8 and 9)

  • Then deep fry in the hot oil over medium flame till golden brown colour. Ready to serve. (Image 10 and 11)
