Ingredients :

Mushroom Kaalan Butter Masala
Kaalan | Mushroom - 200gm (chopped)
Cinnamon Stick - 1" long
Cloves - 3 no
Ginger - 1" long
Garlic - 3 to 4 cloves
Shallots - 1\2 cup (or Large Onion - 1 no)
Tomato - 2 no
Cashews - 1\4 cup
Red Chili Powder - 1 and 1\2 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1\2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder - 1\2 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1\2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp
Fresh Cream - 2 to 3 tbsp
Kasoori Methi - 1 tbsp (crushed)
Butter - 2 tbsp + 2 tbsp
Salt To Taste.

Method :
Mushroom Kaalan Butter Masala

Steps To Make The Mushroom | Kaalan Butter Masala Gravy Recipe:

  • Heat 2 tbsp of butter in a hot kadhai and roast the cinnamon stick and cloves. (Image 1)
  • Add the ginger, garlic and shallots, saute until the shallots turn slightly golden colour. (Image 2)
  • Add the tomato and cashews, saute until the tomato turns tender. (Image 3 and 4)
  • Then cool the onion-tomato mixture completely and grind into fine paste, keep aside. (Image 5 and 6)
Mushroom Kaalan Butter Masala
  • To make the gravy, heat the remaining butter in the hot kadhai, add the red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, garam masala, pepper powder and turmeric powder, stir for few seconds. (Image 7 and 8)
  • Then add the ground onion-tomato mixture and stir for an minute. (Image 9)
  • Add a cup of water and required salt, mix well and bring to boil. (Image 10)
Mushroom Kaalan Butter Masala
  • Add the chopped mushroom, mix well and cook for about 7 minutes over medium flame. (Image 11 and 12)
  • Add the fresh cream and cook for an minute. (Image 13)
  • Finally add the kasoori methi, mix and ready to serve. (Image 14)
