Ingredients :

Thinai | Foxtail Millet - 1\4 cup
Samai | Little Millet - 1\4 cup
Kuthiraivali | Barnyard Millet - 1\4 cup
Varagu | Kodo Millet - 1\4 cup
Kambu | Pearl Millet - 1\4 cup
Cholam | Jowar Millet - 1\4 cup
Kelvargu | Finger Millet - 1\4 cup
Dry Red Chili - 2 no
Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp
Sambar Onion | Shallots - 10 to 12 nos
Grated Coconut - 1\4 cup
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Coriander Leaves - 4 stk
Crystal Salt - as required
Ghee - as required.

Method :

Steps To Make The Siru Thaniyam Adai | Multi Millet Adai:

  • First wash and soak the kambu, cholam and kelvaragu for overnight with enough water. Separately soak the remaining millets of thinai, samai, kuthiraivali, varagu and dry red chili with enough water for 2hours only. (Image 1 and 2)

  • To make the adai batter, grind all the soaked millet, dry red chili, fennel seeds and required salt with required water into coarsely. (Image 2 and 3)
  • Then add the sambar onion, coconut, curry leaves and coriander leaves, again grind coarsely and the adai batter is ready. (Image 4 and 5)

  • To make the adai, heat the iron tawa, place a laddle full of batter on the center and spread into little thick circle. (Image 6 and 7)
  • Then using spoon, make some small holes. Add one or two teaspoon of ghee and cook over simmer only. (Image 8 and 9)
  • When the side turns golden colour, turn, cook and ready to serve. (Image 10)
  • Do the same for the remaining.
