Ingredients :

Chicken Pieces | Kozhi Kari - 1\2 kg
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Pepper Corn - 1 tbsp
Shallots | Sambar Onion - 1\2 cup
Large Onion - 1 no (finely chopped)
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tbsp
Red Chili Powder - 1\2 tsp
Coriander Seeds Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp
Garam Masala - 1\4 tsp
Small Tomato - 1 no (chopped)
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Steps To Make The Idlitha Vengayam Kozhi Kari Kuzhambu:

  • First dry roast the cumin seeds and pepper. Then grind into powder and keep aside. (Image 1 and 2)
  • Smash the shallots well and keep aside. (Image 3)

  • To make the curry, heat the onion in a pressure cooker pan and saute for two minutes. (Image 4)
  • Then add the smashed shallots and curry leaves, saute until the onion mixture turns slightly golden colour. (Image 5)
  • Add the ginger garlic paste and saute till its raw smell leaves completely. (Image 6)
  • Add the chicken pieces and saute for an minute. (Image 7)

  • Add the red chili powder, coriander seeds powder, garam masala and turmeric powder, saute for an minute. (Image 8)
  • Add the tomato and required salt, saute till the tomato turns tender. (Image 9)
  • Add a cup of water, mix well and bring to boil. Cover and pressure cook for an 1 whistle and 5 minutes over simmer. (Image 10)

  • When all the steam has released, open the pan, add the roasted-ground cumin seeds and pepper powder, mix well. (Image 11)
  • Finally add the coriander leaves, mix well and ready to serve. (Image 12)
