Ingredients :

Kambu Maavu | Bajra Flour - 1 cup
Arisi Maavu | Rice Flour - 1\4 cup
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Lemon Juice - 1\2 to 1 no
Asafoetida - 1\4 tsp
Salt to Taste
Murukku Maker or Pipping Bag with star nozzle.

Method :

Steps To Make The Kambu Vadagam | Bajra Vadagam:

  • To make the kambu vadagam mixture, In a kadhai add three and half cup of water, kambu maavu, arisi maavu, red chili powder, cumin seeds, asafoetida and required salt. (Image 1)
  • Mix well without lumps. (Image 2)

  • Then heat the vadagam mixture and cook over medium-simmer by stirring continuously until the mixture turns glossy. (Image 3)
  • Cool the vadagam mixture little and add the lemon juice, mix well and cool completely. (Image 4 and 5)

  • To make the vadagam, fill the pipping bag with star nozzle (or murukku maker with star plate) and pipe the vadagam mixture on the plastic sheet. (Image 6)
  • Then sun dry the vadagam for 2 to 3 days or till them dry completely. (Image 7)
  • At night keep the vadagam inside the house. Once the vadagam dried completely, store in a air-tight box.
  • Deep fry the required vadagam and serve. (Image 8)
