Ingredients :

Potato | Urulai Kizhangu - 2 no (medium size)
Ginger - 1" long
Green Chili - 2 no
Bangalore Tomato - 3 no
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp
Garam Masala - 1\2 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Ghee - 2 tbsp + 1 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Steps To Make The Potato Gravy | Urulai Kizhangu Gravy:

  • To cook the potato, cut the potato into two or three pieces, pressure cook them with a cup of water for an whistle and five minutes over simmer. When all the steam released, open the pan. (Image 1)
  • Then cool the potatoes completely, peel off the skin and cut into small pieces. Keep aside. (Image 2)
  • Preparation, grind the ginger and green chili with some water and keep aside. (Image 3 and 4)
  • Then grind the tomato into paste and keep aside. (Image 5 and 6)

  • To make the potato | urulai kizhangu gravy, heat the ghee in a kadhai and add the ginger-chili paste, saute for few seconds. (Image 7)
  • Add the red chili powder and turmeric powder, stir for few seconds. (Image 8)
  • Add the tomato paste and cook until its raw smell leaves completely. (Image 9)
  • Add the potato pieces and mix well. (Image 10)

  • Add one and half cup of water and required salt, mix well and bring to boil. Then cook for about 5 to 7minutes over medium flame. (Image 11)
  • Then add the garam masala and mix well. (Image 12)
  • Separately temper the cumin seeds with remaining ghee, add them into the potato gravy, mix well and ready to serve. (Image 13 and 14)
