Healthy And Tasty Memory Power Vallarai Keerai Chutney - Vallarai keerai is naturally helps to increase the memory power. Try to add the vallarai keerai in your diet for once in a week. It good for growing children to improve the capacity of learning. Vallarai keerai is slightly have bitter taste, to reduce the bitter taste just use tomato and tamarind. This chutney goes well with the ghee dosai and idly. I'm already posted some vallarai keerai recipes like sambar, pakkoda, adai and chutney. Now lets see how to make this vallarai keerai chutney with simple ingredients, step by step images and instructions. Follow the recipe as below...


Ingredients :

Vallarai Keerai - 2 cups
Urad Dal - 2 tbsp + 1\4 tsp
Dry Red Chili - 3 no
Asafoetida - 1\4 tsp
Tamarind Ball - 1" ball size
Shallots | Sambar Onion - 10 no (chopped)
Tomato - 1 no (chopped)
Mustard Seeds - 1\2 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Crystal Salt - required
Gingelly Oil - 2 tsp + 1 tbsp + 2 tsp

Steps To Make The Memory Power Vallarai Keerai Chutney:


Preparation, wash and roughly cut the vallarai keerai and keep aside.

To make the chutney, heat a teaspoon of oil in a kadhai, add the urad dal, dry red chili and asafoetida, saute till the urad dal turns slightly golden colour and keep separately. Then again heat a tablespoon of oil, saute the tamarind for half a minute and keep separately. Then saute the shallots till its turns slightly golden colour. Add the vallarai keerai and cooks fully, it takes about two minutes.

Add the tomato and required salt, saute till the tomato turns tender, then cool this keerai mixture fully and keep aside.
To grind, first grind the urad dal mixture into powder and add the tamarind and grind into powder.

Then add the keerai mixture and grind into paste with required water. Transfer the chutney mixture into a bowl and keep aside. Separately temper the mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves with the remaining oil. Add the tempered ingredients into chutney mixture, mix well and serve.

Serving Suggestion: Serve the vallarai keerai chutney with the idly or dosai.
