Deepavali Special | Kadalai Maavu Butter Murukku | How To Make Besan Murukku - In some places, urad dal may not be available, in that case now easily we make murukku without urad dal | ulundu maavu. It is golden colour, crunchy and soft texture. This murukku is made with the besan flour, rice flour, sesame seeds, asafoetida and butter. It is easy to make like usual murukku. Now lets see how to make this kadalai maavu murukku with easy step by step images and instructions.

Ingredients :

Kadalai Maavu | Besan Flour - 1 cup
Arisi Maavu | Rice Flour - 1 cup
Sesame Seeds - 1 tbsp
Asafoetida - 1\2 tsp
Butter - 20 to 25 gm
Water - required
Salt To Taste.
Method :

Steps To Make The Kadalai Maavu Murukku:

To make the murukku dough, melt the butter in a mixing bowl, add required salt and mix well. Add the besan flour, rice flour, sesame seeds and asafoetida, mix well altogether. Then add required water and knead into soft dough.
To make the murukku, grease the murukku mould with 3 hole disc. Fill the dough and make murukku. Deep fry in the oil, cook over medium flame until golden colour. To store, cool the murukku and store in a air tight box.
My Notes: Murukku dough doesn't required cooking soda for crunchy texture.
Serving Suggestion: Serve the kadalai maavu murukku with the gulab jamun.
