Kuthiraivalli | Barnyard - 1\2 cup |
Kadalai Parupu | Split Bengal Gram - 1\4 cup |
Pasi Paruppu | Skinless Moong Dal - 1\4 cup |
Dry Red Chili - 2 no |
Curry Leaves - 2 hands |
Fennel Leaves - 1 tsp |
Sambar Onion | Shallots - 12 no |
Garlic - 5 cloves |
Grated Coconut - 1\4 cup |
Ghee | Oil - required |
Salt To Taste. |

Steps To Make The Kuthiraivalli Karuvepillai Adai | Barnyard Curry Leaves Millet Adai:Preparation, soak the kuthiraivalli arisi, kadalai paruppu, pasi paruppu and dry red chili for about two hours with enough water.To make the adai batter, grind the soaked ingredients with curry leaves, fennel seeds and required salt into little coarsely with some water. Add the sambar onion and garlic, grind little. Then add the coconut and again grind little. now the adai batter is ready to make adai. |
To make the adai, heat the iron tawa and turn the flame into simmer. Place a ladle of adai batter or required batter in the center, spread into circle for about half centimeter thickness. Make some holes using spoon, then add 2 to 3 teaspoon of ghee. Cover and cook over medium flame. When the side turn golden colour, flip and cook till the brown spots appear. Serve hot. Do the same for the remaining batter. |
