Pudalangai Kootu | Snake Gourd Kootu Recipe in a easy pressure cooking method. I already posted three variety of pudalangai kootu, like that this recipe is also very easy to make. At my home, we usually make kootu once in a week. It is one of the easiest and healthy recipe. Because gourd vegetables are helps to reduce weight and good for stomach. Also less oil only used. Now lets see how to make this pudalangai kootu recipe with easy step by step images and instructions.


Ingredients :

Kootu
Pudalangai | Snake Gourd - 2 no (small, 1"cut)
Pasi Paruppu - 1\4 cup
Mustard Seeds - 1\4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1\4 tsp
Dry Red Chili - 3 no
Cumin Seeds - 1\2 tsp
Asafoetida - 1\4 tsp
Sambar Onion | Shallots - 1\2 cup (chopped)
Garlic - 5 cloves
Green Chili - 2 no
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Tomato - 1 no (chopped)
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp (chopped)
Salt To Taste
Oil - 1 tbsp
Method :

Steps To Make The Pudalangai Kootu | Snake Gourd Kootu:

Preparation, soak the pasi paruppu with enough water for half an hour. To make the pudalangai kootu, heat the oil in a pressure cooker pan, temper the mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds and dry red chili. After that add the asafoetida and mix well. Then add the shallots, garlic, green chili and curry leaves, saute until the shallots turns slightly golden colour. Add the tomato and cook for an minute.

Add the pudalangai and turmeric powder, mix well. Add the soaked pasi paruppu and mix well. Then add 1 and 1\2 cup of water and required salt, mix well and bring to boil. Then cover the pan, cook for an whistle and five minutes over simmer. Then when all the steam has released, open the pan, add the coriander leaves, mix well and ready to serve.

My Notes: Always open the pressure cooker pan after the steam released.
Serving Suggestion: Serve the pudalangai kootu with the pickle and karunai kizhangu varuval.
