Potato Chips | Moru Moru Urulai Kizhangu Chips - are very light and crunchy texture. I used chat masala for the tangy taste. It can be easily make at any time. It goes well with the sambar rice and bisi bell bath. Just grate the potatoes or slice it, deep fry in the oil and mix with the masala's, that's all. You can store for two to three days in a air tight box. But I prefer to make freshly at each time. Now lets see how to make this potato chips with easy step by step images, instructions and video.

Potato Chips | Urulai Kilangu Chips | Crunchy Potato Chips Recipe

Ingredients :

Potatoes - 2 no (large)
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Chat Masala - 1\2 to 3\4 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1\2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp
Salt - as required
Oil - for deep fry.
Method :
  • Wash and grate the potatoes with the large hole side. Immerse in the ordinary water to avoid discoloration.
  • Heat enough oil in a kadhai to deep fry, take some grated potatoes, squeeze out the water and deep fry in the oil. Cook between medium and high flame, till golden colour and crunchy.
  • Separately mix the red chili powder, chat masala, pepper powder, turmeric powder and required salt.
  • Mix the fried potatoes and masala's together, now the potatoes chips are ready.
Notes: No need to peel off the potatoes skin. To fry, squeeze out the excess water and carefully deep fry the potatoes in the oil. Add the masala as per your taste. Store the potatoes chips in a air tight box for two to three days.
