Ragi | Kelvaragu | Keppai - 2 cups (roasted and powder) |
Peanuts | Verkadalai - 1\2 cup |
White Sesame Seeds | Vellai Ellu - 1\2 cup |
Naattu Sakkarai - 1 and 1\2 cups |
Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp |
Ghee - required |
Salt - 1\4 tsp |
Method : |
To make the ragi rotti, mix the ragi, salt and required water into soft dough. Heat the iron tawa, take some dough, using fingers, spread into circle on the tawa for about half centimeter thickness. Slowly cook with required ghee. Do the same for the remaining dough and cool completely. |
Roast the peanuts, cool and remove the outer skin. Roast the sesame seeds and cool completely. |
Grind the peanuts and sesame seeds into powder. |
To make the simili urundai mixture, grind the ragi roti. After that add the peanuts-sesame mixture, naattu sakkarai and cardamom powder, again grind to mix all together. |
Make two to three inch laddu's from the ground mixture and the simili urundai is ready. |
Notes: Use freshly roasted and ground ragi for best flavour and taste. Buy good quality of naattu sakkarai. Don't add water to make the laddu. Store the simili urundai up to five days. |

Dry roast the peanuts over simmer. Cool and rub the peanuts between your palms to remove its skin. |
Dry roast the sesame seeds well and cool completely. Then grind the peanuts and sesame into powder. |
To make the simili urundai laddu mixture, first grind the ragi rotti. |
Add the peanuts-sesame mixute, naattu sakkarai and cardamom powder, again grind to mix altogether. |
To make the simili urundai, transfer the ground ragi mixture into a mixing bowl, make laddu's for about two to three inch ball size. And the simili urundai is ready. |

How long can we store this laddoo in fridge?
