Maida | Plain Flour - 1 cup |
Baking Powder - 1\2 tsp |
Cooking Soda | Sodium Bi Carbonate - 1\4 tsp |
Unsalted Butter - 100 gms (room temperature) |
White Sugar - 1\2 cup (measured and powdered it) |
Large Eggs - 2 nos (room temperature or use 3 eggs) |
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp |
Milk - required |
For Sugar Syrup: |
Sugar - 1\4 cup |
Water - 3\4 cup |
For Butter Icing: |
Unsalted Butter - 100 gms (room temperature) |
Icing Sugar - 300 gms |
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp |

Notes: Use all the ingredients in room temperature. Use measuring cup. Measure half cup of sugar and then powder it. Cool the cake completely and then icing it. Don't use more baking powder and cooking soda to rise the cake. |

Preparation, first grease and dust a 6" baking cake tin with some butter and maida, keep aside. Then sieve the maida, baking powder and cooking soda for 2 to 3 times and keep aside. Then pre heat the oven at 180 degree Celsius. In the meantime, we can make the cake batter. |
Take a mixing bowl, add the butter and powdered sugar, beat with an electric beater till light and creamy. |
Now add the eggs, one at a time and beat with an electric beater till all combined well. |
Add the vanilla essence and beat for few seconds to mix altogether. Add the sieved flour mixture. |
Using spatula, fold the flour in the egg mixture at one direction. If the batter is too thick means, add some milk and the cake batter is ready to bake. Transfer the cake batter into the prepared cake tin and tap on flat surface to spread the batter evenly on all side. |
Bake in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes or till the top turns golden color. To test the cake, is fully baked or not, insert a knife in the center of cake and it should comes out comes. Else bake the cake for 5 to 10 minutes more. Because the baking time may vary for different types of oven. |
To remove the cake in the tin, first cool the cake in the tin for 10 to 15mins, run a knife at the sides and invert on the plate. Then cool the cake completely to icing. Also make the sugar syrup, cool it and fill in the bottle with holes cap, it helps to sprinkle syrup easily on cake. |

In a mixing bowl, add the butter, icing sugar and vanilla essence, mix all and then beat with an electric beater till creamy with required milk. |
To icing the cake, slice the cake into half, take one part of cake and moist the cake with the sugar syrup. |
Then layer the cake with required butter icing, place the another cake part on top and moist it. |
After that cove the cake fully with the butter icing. Fill the remaining butter icing in the pipping bag with the star nozzle. |
Make simple border design and finally sprinkle the sugar sprinkles on top and the vanilla cake is ready. |
