Kalan Pattani Pulav With Thengai Paal | Mushroom And Peas Pulav With Fresh Coconut Milk Recipe. Pulav or Pulao is similar to biryani, but the color and taste is totally differ from each other. I used pressure cooking method to make this pulav very easily at home. The three main ingredients are mushrooms, fresh peas and coconut milk. To make it healthier, you can also use millets and mixed vegetables. Also made with the simple spices and easy available ingredients, with step by step images, instructions and video. Recipe :

Kalan Pattani Pulav | Mushroom Peas Pulav Recipe Pressure Cooking

Ingredients :

Mushrooms - 200 gm (quarter)
Fresh Peas - 1\2 cup
Basmathi Rice - 1 and 1\2 cup
Ghee or Butter - 2 tbsp
Cinnamon Stick - 2"
Cloves - 5 no
Garlic - 10 cloves
Onion - 1 no (sliced)
Green Chili - 3 to 4 no (slit)
Mint Leaves - 1\4 tsp
Coriander Leaves - 1\4 tsp
Coconut Milk - 2 and 1\4 cup
Salt - as required
Method :
Preparation, soak the basmathi rice for 15mins, drain the water and keep aside.
Heat the ghee in a pressure cooker pan, roast the cinnamon stick and cloves. Add the garlic, onion and green chili, saute until the onion turns translucent.
Add the mushroom and saute for two minutes. Add the fresh peas and saute for one minute.
Add the mint and coriander leaves, stir for few seconds.
Add the soaked basmathi rice, coconut milk and required salt.
Mix all and cover the pan. Pressure cook for one whistle over high flame and three minutes over simmer. When all the steam has released, open the pan, mix altogether and serve hot.
Notes: Always open the pressure cooker pan, after the steam released fully.

To make the pulav, heat the ghee or butter in a pressure cooker pan.

Add the coconut milk and required salt, mix well and cover the pan. Pressure cook for 1 whistle over high flame and 3 minutes over simmer. When all the steam has released, open the pan, mix altogether and serve hot.

Serving Suggestion: Serve the mushroom peas pulav with the onion raita and chili siru kizhangu.
