Coconut Chutney | Thengai Chutney - Again Specially I post this coconut chutney to Maha.S mam. This is one of the simple coconut chutney recipe. Most of the people's avoid coconut in their daily diet and believe it contains more fat and cholesterol. To my knowledge, uncooked coconut can be take regularly. It will increase our immune system, also good for heart and health. Follow the recipe as below with easy step by step instruction and images.

Coconut Chutney | Thengai Chutney | Homemade Coconut Chutney


Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 2 minutes

Ingredients :

Coconut - 1\4 cup (chopped)
Ginger - 1 inch
Green chili - 1 or 2 no
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1\4 cup
Urad dal - 1\4 cup
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Salt - as required
Method :
Grind the coconut, ginger, green chili and required salt into slightly coarsely paste with required water. Transfer the coconut mixture into a bowl.
Separately temper the the mustard seeds and urad dal in the hot oil, after splutter add in the curry leaves, stir well and remove from the flame.
Add the tempered ingredients in to the ground coconut mixture. Mix well and the chutney is ready.

Grind the coconut, ginger, green chili and required salt into slightly coarsely paste with required water and transfer the ground coconut mixture into a bowl.

To temper, heat the oil in a kadhai, add the mustard seeds and urad dal, after splutter add in the curry leaves, stir well and turn off the flame. Then add the tempered ingredients into the ground coconut mixture, mix well and the coconut chutney is ready.

Serving Suggestion: Goes well with idli, dosai and vadai.
