Nandu Masala | Crab Masala | Nandu Dry Masala

Ingredients :

Nandu | Crab - 8 nos
Tomato - 3 no (chopped)
Green Chili - 2 no
Gingelly Oil - 2 tbsp
Cinnamon Stick - 2" long
Cloves - 5 no
Fennel Seeds - 1\2 tsp
Sambar Onion - 1\2 cup (finely chopped)
Curry Leaves - 1 or 2 stk
Crushed Ginger Garlic - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1\2 tsp
Salt - as required
Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Method :
Grind the tomato and green chili into paste and keep aside.
Heat the oil in a kadhai, add the cinnamon stick, cloves and fennel seeds, stir few seconds. Add the onion and curry leaves, saute until it turns slightly golden colour. Add the ginger garlic paste, saute until its raw smell leaves.
Add the crab and turmeric powder, mix and cook for an minute. Add the ground tomato-chili mixture and required salt. Mix well, cover and cook until dry. Stir in between frequently.
Add the pepper powder and cumin seeds powder, mix well and cook for one minute. Finally add the coriander leaves, mix well and the crab masala is ready.
Notes: No need to add water. Adjust the chili and pepper as per your taste.

Cover and cook until the masala's turns dry. Also stir in between frequently. Then add the pepper powder and cumin seeds powder, mix well and cook for about one minute.

Finally add the coriander leaves, mix well and the crab masala is ready.

Serving Suggestion: Goes well with crab gravy and rasam.
