Sheela Meen | Barracuda Fish - 8 to 10 pieces |
Lemon Juice - 1\2 no |
Salt - as required |
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp |
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp |
Pepper Powder - 1\2 tsp |
Grated Coconut - 1\4 cup |
Corn Flour - 1\4 cup |
Oil for shallow or deep fry |
Method : |
First marinate the fish pieces with the lemon juice and salt for ten minutes. |
Second marinate with the red chili powder, turmeric powder and pepper powder for ten minutes. |
Separately mix the cornflour, grated coconut and generous pinch of salt. |
Dust the marinated fish pieces on cornflour-coconut mixture and shake out the excess flour. |
Shallow fry the fish pieces, cook over low flame and serve hot. |
Notes: Can also use desiccated coconut. Cornflour coating helps to seal the masala's well inside. |

Separately mix the cornflour, grated coconut and generous pinch of salt. Dust the fish pieces with the flour mixture on all sides well. |
Shake out the excess flour and shallow fry the fish pieces. Cook over low flame until golden brown colour and serve hot. |
