Butter - 1 tbsp |
Coconut - 2 cups (grated, fresh) |
Milk - 1 cup |
Unsweetened Khoya - 1 cup |
Sugar - 1 cup |
Rose Essence - 1\4 tsp |
Method : |
In a thick kadhai, heat and melt the butter. Add the grated coconut, roast until golden colour and keep aside. |
In the same kadhai, add the milk, unsweetened khoya and sugar, mix well. Cook by stirring frequently and dissolve the khoya in the milk. Then boil the mixture for about two minutes. Add the roasted coconut and essence. Mix well and cook until the mixture turns soft ball consistency. |
Grease 8" aluminum tin or plate with some butter. Add the coconut burfi mixture, evenly spread and cool completely. Cut into desired shape and ready. |
Notes: If the burfi mixture is not thick enough means it will not set and difficult to cut. |
