Oil - 2 tbsp |
Green Chilies Paste - 5 nos |
Large Onion Paste - 1 no |
Tomatoes Paste - 2 nos |
Chicken Pieces - 500 gms (medium cut) |
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp |
Salt - as required |
Pepper Powder - 1\2 tsp |
Unsalted Butter - 2 tbsp |
Mashed Garlic - 1 tbsp |
Lemon Juice - 1 no (or 2 tbsp) |
Lemon Zest - 1 tsp |
Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp (finely chopped) |
Method : |
To make the chicken gravy, heat the oil in a kadhai, add the green chilies paste and stir well for few seconds. Then add the onion paste and saute until its raw smell leaves. Add the tomato paste, cook until its water reduced, by stirring frequently. Add the chicken pieces, turmeric powder, required salt and pepper powder. Mix and cook for one minute. Add one and half cup of water, mix well and bring to boil. Cover and cook over medium-low flame until the chicken pieces cook fully, by stirring frequently. |
To make the lemon garlic sauce, melt the butter in a sauce pan, add the garlic and cook until its raw smell leaves. Add the lemon zest, lemon juice and coriander leaves (optional), mix and turn off the flame. |
Mix the lemon garlic sauce into the chicken gravy and ready. |
Notes: For pressure cooker, use one cup of water and cook for 1 whistle. Make semi-gravy and mix with lemon garlic sauce. |
