Plain Wheat Flour - 1 cup |
Cooking Soda - 1\4 tsp (sodium bi-carbonate) |
Salt - pinch |
Unsalted Butter - 75 gm |
Brown Sugar - 1\2 cup |
Milk Powder - 1 tbsp |
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp |
Choco Chips - 1\4 cup |
Milk - 1 tbsp (+ or -) |
Other: |
Sand - 2 to 3 cups (depends on pan size) |
Idly Pan Plates - 3 nos |
Idly Pan or Pressure Cooker Pan |
Butter to grease |
Method : |
Preparations, Sieve the wheat flour, cooking soda and salt, keep aside. In a idly pan or pressure cooker pan, add the sand, cover and bake for 5mins over high flame. (similarly pre heating the oven). Grease 3 idly pans plates and keep aside. |
To make the biscuits dough, in a mixing bowl, add the butter and brown sugar, Using spatula, mix well until creamy. Add the milk powder and vanilla essence, mix well. And the sieved wheat flour and choco chips, mix into dough with milk. |
Take a tablespoon of dough, form into circle for about 1\4 inch thickness. Arrange on greased idly pan plates. Cover and bake them in a idly pan for about 15mins over medium flame. (also check in between). Cool the biscuits in the idly pan plate until firm to touch. Then cool them completely on rack. Do the same for the remaining dough. |
Notes: To bake, we can use idly pan or pressure cooker pan without whistle. Use 3 idly plates at a time to bake evenly. Else the top plate will not bake well and the bottom plate will be over baked. |
