Home style Mutton Curry With Poppy Seeds | Kasa Kasaa Attu Kari Kuzhambu - very simple and easy mutton curry, made with the twist of poppy seeds. Already I posted with some heavy masala's and long processed curries. But this curry is very light and also very few masala's only used. Will goes very well with the idly and dosai. Home Style Mutton Curry With Poppy Seeds | Kasa Kasaa Attu Kari Kuzhambu

Ingredients :

Kasa Kasaa - 2 tsps
Gingelly Oil - 2 tbsps
Sambar Onion - 3\4 cup (chopped)
Cinnamon Stick - 2" long
Cloves - 3 nos
Cardamoms - 2 nos
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Crushed Ginger Garlic - 1 tbsp (equal ratio)
Mutton - 500 gms (medium size with bones)
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp
Red Chili Powder - 1 and 1\2 tsps
Coriander Seeds Powder - 1 tsp
Required Salt
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsps (finely chopped)
Method :
Preparation, dry roast the poppy seeds over simmer until golden colour and cool completely. Grind into powder and keep aside.
To make the mutton curry, heat the oil in a pressure cooker pan, add the sambar onion, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamoms and curry leaves. Saute until the onion turns slightly golden colour. Add the ginger garlic, saute until its raw smell leaves.
Add the mutton pieces and turmeric powder, saute for about two minutes. Add the red chili powder, coriander seeds powder and required salt, mix well. Then add one and half cup of water and mix well.
Close the lid and whistle. Cook for one whistle over high flame and twenty minutes over low flame.
When all the steam has released, open the pan.
Add the roasted and powdered poppy seeds powder, mix well and cook for about three to five minute over low flame. Finally add the coriander leaves, mix well and ready.
Notes: Always open the pan, after the steam released fully.

Add the water and mix well. Close the lid and whistle. Cook for one whistle over high flame and five minutes over low flame. When all the steam has released, open the pan.

Add the roasted poppy seeds powder and mix well. Cook for about three to five minute over low flame.

Finally add the coriander leaves, mix well and ready.

Serving Suggestion: Serve with mutton sukka and boiled egg.
