Dry Yeast - 1 tsp |
Sugar - 1 tsp |
Maida - 2 cups |
Salt - as required |
Egg - 1 no |
Water - as required |
Butter - 1 tbsp |
For Garlic Butter Sauce : |
Butter - 1 tbsp + 3 tbsps |
Garlic - 2 tbsps (finely chopped) |
Others : |
Cheese - required, grated |
Oil - to grease |
Milk - as required |
Method : |
To activate the dry yeast, take quarter cup of luke warm water in a bowl, add the yeast and sugar, mix well. Wrap with cling flim or close tightly with lid and rest for about ten to fifteen minutes until its foamy. |
To make the bread dough, In a mixing bowl, add the maida and salt, mix. Then add the egg and required water, knead into soft dough. Grease the bowl with some oil, place the dough and grease on top. Cover the dough with damp cloth. Set the bowl in a warm place for about 45mins to 1 hr until double the size. |
Then knead the dough with butter, if its too greasy, add some flour and knead well. Grease the 6" round baking tin, place the dough in center and grease on top. Again cover the dough with damp cloth, set in a warm place for about 45mins to 1 hr until double the size. Then milk or egg wash on top. |
To bake, preheat the oven at 180 degree Celsius in convectional mode. bake for about 20 to 25mins until the top turns slightly golden colour. Then grease some butter on top. |
To demold, cool the bread in the tin for about 10 mins, then using knife, loosen the sides and invert on plate and cool completely. |
To make the garlic butter sauce, heat the butter and melt it, stir in the garlic until golden color and keep aside. |
To make the pull apart garlic cheese bread, using sharp knife, make 1" square and don't cut the bread all the way through. Then spoon the garlic butter into the cuts. After that put the grated cheese between the cuts. Bake for about 10 mins until the cheese melts at 180 degree Celsius preheated oven. |
Serve Hot. |
Notes: Activate the dry yeast and then use. Use any cheese like mozzarella, cheddar or even normal cheese too. |
