Ghee - 1 tbsp |
Milk - 1\4 cup |
Milk Powder - 1\2 cup |
Sugar - 1 tbsp |
Cardamom Powder - 1\4 tsp |
Yellow Food Colour - few drops ( or saffron) |
Cow's Milk - 1 liter |
Lemon Juice - 1 no |
Sugar - 1 and 1\2 cups |
Water - 4 cups |
Cardamom - 2 nos |
Tutty Fruity - optional |
Desiccated Coconut - optional |
Method : |
To make the milk powder palkova (stuffing), heat the ghee in a pan, add the milk, milk powder, sugar, cardamom powder and yellow food colour (optional). Stir continuously over low flame until soft solid consistency. Keep aside and cool them. |
To make the paneer, heat the milk in a pan, bring to boil and turn off the flame. Stir in the lemon juice, it will curdle the milk. Using cloth, strain the water and we get the paneer. Knead the paneer into soft dough. Divide them into 10 equal part. Shape into oval and keep aside. |
Heat the sugar and water in a pan, bring to boil. Add the cardamom's and prepared paneer oval's one by one gently. Lid the pan, boil over medium flame for about ten to twelve minutes until its double the size. Take them from the syrup, drain out the excess syrup and cool them. |
Make slit lengthwise and stuff some prepared palkova mixture. Roll them on desiccated coconut and ready. |
Notes : For stuffing, can also use sweetened khoya. Use cow's milk for best texture and taste. |
