Ingredients : |
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp |
Water - 1 cup |
Salt - as required |
Red Chili Powder or Chili Flakes - 1\2 tsp |
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp |
Asafoetida - 1\4 tsp |
Butter - 1 tbsp |
Cooking Soda - 1\4 tsp |
Pachai Arisi Maavu | Raw Rice Flour - 1 cup |
Method : |
Dry roast the cumin seeds in a kadai. Grind into coarsely and keep aside. |
To make the ring murukku dough, heat the water in a pan, add the salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida, butter and coarsely ground cumin seeds. Mix well and bring to boil. |
Turn off the flame, add the cooking soda and mix well. Then the rice flour and mix altogether. Cool them and knead into soft dough. (If required add boiling water) |
Make rings out of the dough. |
Deep fry the rings in the oil, cook over medium flame until the ishhhh sound stop, in small batches. Ready. |
Notes: cool the dough and knead the dough well to avoid breaking. |
