Orange Chocolate Cake Baked In An Orange | Easy Homemade Orange Chocolate Cake

Serves: 5 to 6 orange cup cakes

Ingredients :

Oranges - 5 to 6 nos
Maida - 1 cup
Cocoa Powder - 1\3 cup
Baking Powder - 1\2 tsp
Cooking Soda - 1\4 tsp
Unsalted Butter - 80 gm (room temp)
Brown Sugar - 3\4 cup
Eggs - 3 nos
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
Orange Juice - 1\2 cup or use orange reduction
Dark Chocolate - 1\2 cup (roughly chopped)
Method :
Cut the top of the oranges (we need them to bake the cakes) and scoop out the pulp. Blend the orange pulps and take out the juice.
Heat the orange juice until it reduces into 1\2 cup ( or use 1\2 cup fresh juice). Cool the reduction completely and keep aside.
Sieve the maida, cocoa powder, baking powder and cooking soda, keep aside.
Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius at convectional mode.
To make the cake batter, in a mixing bowl, cream the unsalted butter and brown sugar. Add in 3 eggs, one at a time, beat until combined. Beat in the vanilla essence. Then fold in the sieved flour mixture with the orange juice. Then mix the dark chocolate.
Fill 3\4th part batter in each orange cups. Bake for about 25 mins (+ or -) in a preheated oven. Serve warm.
Notes: We can use orange juice reduction or use fresh orange juice.
