Ingredients :

Gingelly Oil - 2 to 3 tbsps
Fenugreek - 1\4 tsp
Sambar Onion - 1 cup
Garlic - 10 cloves
Curry Leaves - 2 stks
Tomato - 1 cup (chopped)
Green Chillies - 3 nos
Banana Flower - 1 no (cleaned)
Red Chili Powder - 1 and 1\2 tsps
Coriander Powder - 1 and 1\2 tsps
Turmeric Powder - 1\2 tsp
Cumin Powder - 1\2 tsp
Tamarind Water - 1 cup (2" ball size)
Water - 1 cup
Salt - as required
Method :
Heat the oil in a manchatti, temper fenugreek.
Add the sambar onion, garlic and curry leaves, saute until the onion turns slightly golden colour.
Add the tomato and green chilies, saute until the tomato turns soft.
Add the cleaned banana flower and saute for about two minutes.
Add the red chili powder, coriander powder and cumin powder, stir well.
Then add the tamarind water, water and required salt. Mix well.
Cook for about ten minutes over low flame or until the banana flower turns sott. Serve hot.
Notes: Remove the banana flower stamen and then use.
