Gingelly Oil - 2 to 3 tbsps |
Fenugreek - 1\4 tsp |
Sambar Onion - 1 cup |
Garlic - 10 cloves |
Curry Leaves - 2 stks |
Tomato - 1 cup (chopped) |
Green Chillies - 3 nos |
Banana Flower - 1 no (cleaned) |
Red Chili Powder - 1 and 1\2 tsps |
Coriander Powder - 1 and 1\2 tsps |
Turmeric Powder - 1\2 tsp |
Cumin Powder - 1\2 tsp |
Tamarind Water - 1 cup (2" ball size) |
Water - 1 cup |
Salt - as required |
Method : |
Heat the oil in a manchatti, temper fenugreek. |
Add the sambar onion, garlic and curry leaves, saute until the onion turns slightly golden colour. |
Add the tomato and green chilies, saute until the tomato turns soft. |
Add the cleaned banana flower and saute for about two minutes. |
Add the red chili powder, coriander powder and cumin powder, stir well. |
Then add the tamarind water, water and required salt. Mix well. |
Cook for about ten minutes over low flame or until the banana flower turns sott. Serve hot. |
Notes: Remove the banana flower stamen and then use. |
