Cook time: 15 minutes
Recipe Cuisine: Indian
Recipe Category: Kozhukattai
Serves: 20 nos

Ingredients :

Ghee - 2 tbsps
Cashew nuts - 2 tbsps (roughly chopped)
Almonds - 2 tbsps (roughly chopped)
Raisins - 2 tbsps
Grated Coconut - 2 cups
Nattu Sakkarai - 1 cup
Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
Rice Flour - 2 cups
Salt - as required
Method :
To make the pooranam, heat the ghee in a kadhai. Roast the cashews, almonds and raisins. Add the coconut and stir for about two mins, until its colour has changed little. Then add the nattu sakkarai and mix well to combine with all. Add the cardamom powder, mix well and keep aside to cool completely.
To make the kozhukattai dough, boil three cups of water with some salt. Mix boiling salted water into the rice flour and make soft dough.
To make the kozhukattai, grease your palm with ghee or oil, take some dough, stuff some prepared pooranam and make madagam shape ( or balls, somas shapes).
Steam in a idli pan for about fifteen minutes over medium flame and ready.
Notes: Don't use cool water to make the kozhukattai dough. Instead of nattu sakkarai, you can also use jaggery or karuppatti.
