Thinai Laddu With Nattu Sakkarai And Ghee | Deepavali Special

Ingredients :

Thinai Arisi | Foxtail Millet - 1 cup
Ghee - 2 tbsps
Cashews - 10 to 15 nos
Almonds - 10 to 15 nos
Cardamoms - 4 nos
Sukku | Dry Ginger - 1" piece
Nattu Sakkarai or Brown Sugar - 1\2 cup to 3\4 cup
Hot Ghee - as required
Method :
Wash the thinai arisi and drain the water completely. Spread them over a cloth to absorb its excess water. Dry roast them in a heavy kadai until crispy.
Ghee roast the cashews and almonds.
To make the laddu flour, grind the roasted thinai, cardamoms and dry ginger into powder. Add the roasted nuts and nattu sakkarai, grind few seconds to blend altogether.
Transfer the prepared laddu flour into a bowl. Add required hot ghee, mix and make laddu's.
Notes: Dont soak the thinai, just wash, drain, dry roast and then make powder. Instead of nattu sakkarai we can also use jaggery or brown sugar.
