Thinai Rose Petals Cookies | Homemade Egg less Cookies | Thinai Butter Cookies | Millet Cookies | Siru Thaniyam Cookies - Its crunchy, buttery and is just as delicious with the rose petal bits. Its taste and flavor are really unique. Made with the main ingredients of thinai (foxtail millet), brown sugar and paneer rose petals. For the binding agent, we can use wheat flour or maida. Now lets see how to make this homemade cookies with easy step by step images, instructions and video (will post soon)..

Bake time: approx 18 to 20 minutes

Ingredients :

Thinai Flour - 1 cup
Wheat Flour or Maida - 1\2 cup
Baking Powder - 1\4 tsp
Cooking Soda - 1\8 tsp
Unsalted Butter - 80 gms
Brown Sugar - 3\4 cup
Milk Powder - 2 tbsps
Rose Essence - few drops
Paneer Rose Petals - 1\2 cup (chopped)
Milk - as required
Method :
Preparation, sieve the thinai flour, wheat flour, baking powder and cooking soda, keep aside.
To make the cookie dough, cream the butter and brown sugar , by using electric beater or spatula. Add the milk powder and rose essence, mix well. Add the sieved flour mixed and mix well. Then add the rose petals and mix well. Add required milk and make dough.
Preheat the oven to 180 degree at Convectional mode.
Grease the baking tray with butter.
Take a tablespoon of dough, make round cookie shape with quarter inch thickness. Place the cookies on greased tray with some space between each other.
Bake for about 18 Min's (+ or -) or until golden colour.
Cool the cookies in the tray for about ten minutes or until firm to touch, then transfer on the rack and cool completely. Store them in a air-tight box.
Do the same for the remaining dough.
Notes: Use all the ingredients at room temperature.
