Healthy Tiffin Recipe - Palak Millets Adai

Made with the main ingredients of foxtail millet, kodo millet, toor dal, bengal gram dal, palak. Along with easy step wise images, instructions and YouTube video.

Step By Step Images:

Wash and soak the thinai, varagau, thuvaram paruppu, kdalai paruppu and red chillies for about two hours with enough water, then drain the water.

To make the adai batter, first grind soaked ingredients with required water.

Add in the fennel seeds and coconut, again grind into coarsely.

At last add in the sambar onion, garlic, palak and required salt, again grind into coarsely.

Now the batter is ready.

Heat a iron tawa or non-stick tawa, pour a ladle full of batter or required batter in the center, using laddle spread into little thick circle. Using spoon, make some holes here and there.

Cover with lid, cook on both sides with required oil or ghee.

Serve hot.

Ingredients :

Thinai Arisi | Foxtail Millet - 1\4 cup
Varagu Arisi | Kodo Millet - 1\4 cup
Thuvaram Paruppu | Toor dal - 2 tbsps
Kadalai Paruppu | Bengal gram dal - 2 tbsps
Dry Red Chillies - 2 nos
Fennel Seeds - 1\2 tsp
Coconut - 2 tbsps
Sambar Onions - 6 to 7 nos
Garlic Cloves - 5 to 6 nos
Palak - 1 cup
Salt - as required
Oil - as required
