Cheese Straws | Cheddar Cheese Straws | Snacks
Ingredients :
Maida - 200 gm
Butter - 100 gm (cold, cut into small pieces)
Cheddar Cheese - 100 gm (finely grated, room temperature)
Egg Yolk - 1 no (room temperature)
Cayenne or Red Chili Powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Method :
In a bowl, add maida, butter, cayenne and salt.
Rub it with fingertips until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Add egg yolk and cheese, mix well and make a stiff dough (use cold water if required).
Refrigerator the dough for 45min.
Preheat the oven on convection mode at 180 degree celsius.
Then roll out the dough thinly and cut into strips of about 5" long and 1/4" wide using some flour.
Place on baking tray with butter paper.
Bake for 10 to 15min until light golden brown colour.
Remove it and cool completely on a rack and store in a air-tight container.
