How to make The Homemade Raw Rice Flour \ Pachai Arisi Maavu :
- First clean and wash the raw rice \ pachai arisi. Drain the water and spread over on white cloth or thick tissue
paper for overnight or atleast 5 hours to absorb moisture.
- Then grind the raw rice \ pachai arisi into fine powder. Sieve it and store separately in a air tight container box.

Pachai Arisi Maavu \ Raw Rice Flour - 1 cup
Udacha Kadalai \ Pottu Kadalai \ Fried Gram - 1/3 cup
Ommam \ Ajwain - 1 tsp
Perungayam \ Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Butter - 2 tsp
Salt to Taste
Oil for deep fry. |
Steps To Make The Udacha Kadalai Murukku :
- First grind the udacha kadalai \ fried gram into fine powder and keep aside. (Image 1)
- To make the murukku dough, combine the udacha kadalai flour with the raw rice flour, butter, ajwain, asafoetida and required salt in a mixing bowl. (Image 2)
- Mix well without lumps. (Image 3)
- Knead into soft dough with the required water and keep aside. (Image 4)
- Fill the dough in the murukku maker with three hole plate. (Image 5)
- Make the murukku in the hot oil, cook on both sides over medium flame til it turn golden colour and ready to serve. (Image 6)
- For beginners, make the murukku on the plate and drop in the hot oil one by one.

Serving Suggestion : Serve with Gulab Jamun and Halwa.
