Gulab Jamun is a popular milk-soild based dessert in India. I have already posted gulab jamun recipe, but this recipe is very easy to make. Your Jamun is ready in 30 minutes if you have milk powder at home. I have already tried this Jamun twice, it came out very perfect. I'm very happy to share this recipe to every one. You can follow my recipe as below...

Ingredients :

Gulab Jamun
Milk Powder - 1 cup
Maida \ All Purpose Flour - 1/2 cup
Unsalted Butter - 2 tbsp (room temperature)
Cooking Soda - 1/4 tsp
Sugar - 1 and 1/2 cup
Water - 1 and 1/2 cup
Warm Milk - required
Cardamom - 2 nos
Ghee \ Oil - 500 ml.

Method :

Steps To Make The Homemade Instant Gulab Jamun With Milk Powder :

  • To make the gulab jamun dough, combine the milk powder and butter, mix well without lumps in a mixing bowl. (Image 1 and 2)
  • Then add the maida \ flour and cooking soda, mix well. (Image 3)
  • Then add the required warm milk little by little and knead into soft dough. Cover the dough and let it soak for 5 minutes. (Image 4)

  • Meantime, to make the sugar syrup, heat the sugar and water together till the sugar melts and bring to boil for couple of minutes. For this, string consistency is not required. Once boiled, add the crushed cardamom and keep aside. (Image 5)
  • Parallely heat the ghee \ oil in a hot kadhai. (Image 6)
  • Make small balls out of the prepared dough. (Image 7)
  • Once the ghee \ oil is heated, then simmer the flame and drop the ball one by one gently from the side of the kadhai, fry till they turn brown colour and also the balls rise to the surface of the kadhai. (Image 8) #Don't shallow fry
  • Immediately drop the fried balls into the sugar syrup, within 5mins it absorb all the sugar syrup and gulab jamun is ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot or cold with the crispy butter samai murukku.
