Unsalted Butter - 100 gms |
Cocoa Powder - 1\4 cup |
Maida - 1 cup |
Brown Sugar - 1\2 cup (powdered) |
Baking Powder - 1\2 tsp |
Cooking Soda - 1\4 tsp |
Eggs - 2 nos |
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp |
Walnuts - 1\4 cup (roughly chopped) |
Compound Dark Chocolates - 1\4 cup to 1\2 cup (roughly chopped) |
Walnuts - 1\8 cup (roughly chopped) + extra (to decorate) |
Melted Chocolate - required |
Method : |
Grease and dust a 8" cake tin with some butter and cocoa powder, keep aside. |
Sieve the maida, powdered brown sugar, baking powder and cooking soda, keep aside. |
Melt the unsalted butter, remove from the flame and then mix the cocoa powder. Let it cool and keep aside. |
Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius at convectional mode. |
To make the brownie batter, in a mixing bowl, add the eggs and vanilla essence, beat for an minute or until frothy. Add the butter-cocoa mixture and again beat for an minute. Fold in the sieved flour mixture. Then stir in the walnuts and dark chocolates. If the brownie batter is too thick, add some milk. |
To bake, pour the brownie batter into the prepared tin and sprinkle the remaining walnuts on top. Tap the tin on the flat surface, to spread the batter evenly. Bake for 20 to 25mins. |
To demould, cool the brownie in the tin for about 10 mins. Then run the knife around the sides, invert on the plate and demould it. |
Then pour the melted dark chocolate on top, cut into required size, decorate with walnut. Serve hot or warm with ice cream. |
Notes: Slightly cool the baked brownie in the tin and then demould it, to avoid breaking. |
