Ingredients :

Vanjaram Meen Muttai Dosai | Nei Meen Dosai | Seer Fish Egg Dosai
Vanjaram Meen \ Seer Fish - 1 cup (boneless, skinless, chopped)
Dosai Batter - required
Shallots - 3/4 cup (chopped)
Tomato - 2 no (large, chopped)
Garlic - 1 tsp (mashed)
Green Chilli - 1 no (finely chopped)
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1/4 tsp
Lemon Juice - 1/2 no
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Egg - 2 no
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Steps To Make The Vanjaram Meen \ Seer Fish Dosai :

  • First marinate the vanjaram meen \ seer fish with lemon juice, turmeric powder and required salt for 15mins. (Image 1)
  • Then heat a tablespoon of oil in a hot kadai, cook the marinated varjaram meen and keep aside. (Image 2)

  • Again heat a tablespoon of oil in that same kadai, saute the onion and curry leaves til the onion becomes translucent. (Image 3)
  • Stir in the garlic and green chilli, saute for few seconds. (Image 4)
  • Add in the tomatoes and saute till its become soft. (Image 5)
  • Add in the red chilli powder, cumin seeds powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and required salt and saute till its raw smell leaves. (Image 6)
  • Then add the cooked fish and mix well. (Image 7)
  • Finally add the coriander leaves, mix well and keep aside. (Image 8)

  • To make vanjaram meen dosai, heat a iron tawa or non-stick tawa, pour a laddle full of batter, tilt into circle for about 1/4 inch thickness (like oth-thappam) and reduce the flame into simmer. (Image 9)
  • Break a egg over the batter, add generous pinch of salt, mix and spread and cover the batter. (Image 10 and 11)
  • Then spread the fish mixture over the egg and gently press it, smear little oil around the side and top. (Image 12)
  • When the side turns brown colour, flip the dosai without breaking it and gently press it, cook till done and ready to serve. (Image 13 and 14)
  • Do the same for the remaining batter.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with onion raita.
