Soft Badhusha | How to make Badusha Recipe at Home Diwali Dessert

Ingredients :

Badhusha

To make Dough :


Maida \ All Purpose Flour - 2 cups
Butter - 6 tbsp (room temperature)
Curd - 1/2 cup (+ or -)
Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp

To make Sugar Syrup :


Sugar - 200 gm
Crushed Cardamom - 3 nos
Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
Water - 100 ml

Garnish :


Saffron
Pista

Method :
Badusha

Steps To Make The Soft Badusha Dough : (shown in above image)

  • Combine the maida / all purpose flour, baking soda in a mixing bowl.
  • Then add the butter and mix well like bread-crumbs texture.
  • Then add the curd little by little and knead into a soft dough. Let it rest for 30minutes.

Steps To Make The Sugar Syrup :

  • Mix the sugar and water in a kadhai \ pan, bring to boil and cook til it reaches one string consistency.
  • Add in the crushed cardamom, mix well and remove from the flame.
  • Then squeeze in the lemon juice and keep aside. (above image)

Steps To Make The Badhusha :

  • Heat the enough oil in a kadhai \ pan to deep fry the badhusha.
  • Make small balls out of the dough, pat it and make desired shape. (shown in above image)
Soft Badusha
  • Deep fry them in the hot oil over simmer, 4 to 5 at a time, until golden brown colour on both sides.
  • Then immerse the fried badusha into the prepared sugar syrup. 
  • Let it soak for at least 30minutes, remove from the syrup and garnish with saffron and pistachio, ready to serve.
