Homemade Black Forest Cake | The Third Anniversary Special Recipe

Maida \ All Purpose Flour - 1 and 1/2 cup
unsweetened Cocoa Powder - 3/4 cup
Baking Powder - 1 tsp
Cooking Soda - 1 tsp
Butter Milk - 1 cup (or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)
Large Egg - 2 no
Castor Sugar - 1 cup
Oil - 1/2 cup
Vanilla Essence - 1 and 1/2 tsp
Whipped Cream - 3 cup (+ or -)
Red Cherries - 1 tin
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Cornflour - 1 tbsp
Chocolate Shavings - required |
Preparation :
- Grease and dust the 24cm cake dish and keep aside. (Image 1)
- Sieve the flour with cocoa powder, baking powder and cooking soda for two to three times and keep aside. (Image 2)

Steps To Make The Black Forest Cake :
- Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius.
- To make the black forest cake batter, in a mixing bowl, add the butter milk, eggs, sugar, oil and vanilla essence, beat till the sugar dissolved. (Image 3 and 4)
- Then add in the sieved flour mixed, beat till combined and the black forest cake batter is ready to bake. (Image 5 and 6)

- Transfer the batter in to a prepared cake dish. (Image 7)
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes. (Image 8)
- Test the cake by inserting a tooth pick in the centre, it should comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the cake dish for 10mins, then run a sharp knife around the sides and invert on wire rack to cool completely.

- Meantime, to make the red cherries filling, heat the red cherries with its sugar syrup (also reserve 10 cherries and 3/4 cup of cherries sugar syrup separately) and sugar, until the sugar dissolved. (Image 9)
- Separately dissolve the corn flour with required water, add the cornflour water into the red cherries and cook until sauce consistency. (Image 10 and 11)
- Cool the red cherries filling completely.

- Slice the cooled cake into three equal layers. (Image 12)

- To moist the cake, brush the reserved red cherries syrup evenly on each cake layers. (Image 13)
- To arrange the cake, spread first layer of cake with required whipped cream and half of the red cherries filling, repeat the same for the second layer. (Image 14)
- Then place the third layer on the top and cover the cake with whipped cream.
- Sprinkle the chocolate shaving on the top and sides, finally decorate with reserved cherries and ready.
