Ingredients :

Rajma pudina mint gravy
Rajma - 200 gm
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp
Large Onion - 1 no
Ginger - 1 inch
Garlic - 4 to 5 cloves
Bangalore Tomato - 4 no
Mint Leaves - 1 cup
Cloves - 6 no
Cinnamon Stick - 2" long
Red Chili Powder - 1 and 1\2 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1 tsp
Butter - 2 tbsp
Rock Salt - as required.

Method :

Steps To Make The Rajma Pudina Gravy:

  • Wash and soak the rajma with enough water for overnight. (Image 1 and 2)
  • Then pressure cook the soaked rajma with 2 cups of water, turmeric powder and required salt for 1 whistle and 10 minutes over simmer. When all the steam has released, open the pan and keep aside. (Image 3 and 4)

  • Meantime, grind the onion, ginger and garlic into paste, keep aside. (Image 5 and 6)
  • Then grind the tomato into paste and keep aside. (Image 7 and 8)
  • Similarly grind the mint leaves into paste with required water and keep aside. (Image 9 and 10)

  • To make the rajma pudina gravy, heat the butter in a kadhai and roast the cinnamon stick and cloves. (Image 11)
  • Add in the ground onion and saute until the onion turns golden colour. (Image 12)
  • Add in the tomato paste and saute until its water reduced. (Image 13 and 14)

  • Add in the red chili powder, cumin seeds powder and little salt, stir for few seconds. (Image 15)
  • Add in the mint paste and saute for an minute. (Image 16)
  • Add in the pressure cooked rajma, add the water if required, mix well and cook till gravy consistency, ready to serve. (Image 17 and 18)

Serving Suggestion: Serve the rajma mint gravy with poori, chappathi or naan.
