Steps To Make The Kondakadalai Sukka:Preparation, soak the kondakadalai with enough water for overnight or atleast eight hours. To make the kondakadalai sukka, pressure cook the soaked kondakadalai with one and half cup of water, turmeric powder and required salt for an whistle and five minutes over simmer. When all the steam has released, open the pan and keep aside. Dissolve the jaggery with some water and keep aside. |
Heat the oil in a kadhai, temper the mustard seeds, moon dal, cinnamon stick, cloves and dry red chili. After splutter, add the onion, curry leaves and garlic, saute till the onion turns slightly golden colour. Add the tomato and cook till turns tender. Add the red chili powder and required salt, stir for few seconds. |
Add the pressure cooked kondakadalai and jaggery water. Mix well and cook till the water reduced. Finally add the grated coconut, mix well and the kondakadalai sukka is ready. |
My Notes: Most of the jaggery contains impurities, so dissolve in water or make syrup, filter it and then use. Serving Suggestion: Serve the kondakadalai sukka with the puri, naan, chapathi or lemon rice. Page: Collection Of Veg Poriyal | Side Dish Recipes.
